Methodology

The industry popularity ranking is based on combined data from the National Court Register (KRS) and the Central Registration and Information on Business (CEIDG). Financial performance indicators were calculated exclusively using statutory financial statements filed with the KRS.

Business counts include only entities with a given code registered as their primary business activity (PKD / Polish Classification of Activities). Secondary or auxiliary activities were excluded from the sample.

Under the revised PKD classification effective since 2025, the previous code 62.01.Z (computer programming activities) was split into 62.10.A (game development) and 62.10.B (other computer programming activities). As a result, newly established IT firms are predominantly registered under 62.10.B, and the drop in median financial figures for this subclass reflects the initial filings of newly incorporated micro-enterprises.

This report was prepared as of August 28, 2026; full-year figures for newly registered and deregistered companies for 2026 remain subject to final adjustment.
