Remediation activities and other waste management services (PKD 39.00.Z)
This subclass includes:
- decontamination of soil and groundwater at the site of contamination or elsewhere, using for example mechanical, chemical or biological methods,
- decontamination of industrial plants and sites, including nuclear power plants and sites,
- decontamination and cleaning of surface waters from pollution (for example by collecting harmful substances or using chemicals),
- removal of oil spills or other pollution on land and in water, in oceans and seas, including coastal areas,
- removal of asbestos, lead-based paints and other toxic raw materials,
- removal of anti-personnel mines and similar devices, including on-site detonation,
- other specialised pollution control activities,
- activities related to carbon dioxide capture,
- remediation of mine sites,
- service activities related to decontamination, control and monitoring of land remediation.
This subclass excludes:
- pest control related to agriculture, classified in 01.61.Z,
- water purification for supply purposes, classified in 36.00.Z,
- waste treatment for the recovery of raw materials, energy and other waste-related recovery, classified in the relevant subclasses of group 38.2,
- waste treatment for disposal, classified in the relevant subclasses of group 38.3,
- storage of captured carbon dioxide (CO2), classified in 38.32.Z,
- civil engineering design activities relating to mine site remediation, classified in the relevant subclasses of section F,
- street sweeping and street watering, classified in 81.23.B.
