Programming and broadcasting activities; news agency activities and other content distribution (PKD division 60)
This division covers the production or distribution of radio, television, entertainment, audio and audiovisual content, news, talks and the like, including programmes devoted to specific topics (intended for a particular audience, such as news programmes, sports coverage, educational programmes, youth programmes). Broadcasting or distribution of programmes may take place using various technologies, by radio, via satellite stations, cable networks or over the Internet, by streaming or downloading. Content may be made available to users free of charge or on a subscription or fee basis. This division includes:
- activities related to the creation of content or the acquisition of rights to distribute content, followed by the broadcasting or distribution of that content,
- live podcast broadcasting,
- on-demand distribution of recorded podcasts and downloadable files by entities that are not their publishers,
- activities of news agencies, social networking services, blogs and wiki websites, and websites with online games / computer games.
This division excludes:
- wholesale and retail of audio and video recordings on information media, classified in the relevant subclasses of divisions 46 and 47,
- retail sale of newspapers, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 47,
- publishing of computer games and other software, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 58,
- production of sound and audiovisual recordings (including recorded podcasts), operation of vlog websites and distribution of films, video recordings or audiovisual works and similar productions to cinemas, networks and television stations as well as exhibitors, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 59,
- distribution of programmes by cable or satellite network, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 61,
- provision of computer infrastructure and hosting activities and activities of Internet portal search engines, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 63,
- rental of video discs, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 77,
- activities of independent actors and influencers appearing in vlogs and independent bloggers, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 90,
- operation of gambling websites, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 92.
