Repair and installation of machinery and equipment (PKD division 33)

This section includes specialised repair of machinery, equipment and products manufactured by industrial establishments, intended to restore functionality, and general and routine maintenance (that is, servicing), which ensures efficient operation of the equipment and prevents breakdowns and repairs. This section includes only specialised repairs and maintenance. A significant number of repairs are carried out by manufacturers of machinery, equipment and other products. In such cases, the classification of the economic entity engaged in both repairs and manufacturing is based on the principle of predominant value added, often resulting in these activities being classified together as manufacture of the product. The same principle applies when trade and repairs are combined. Rebuilding and remanufacturing of machinery and equipment is treated as manufacturing activity included in other classes of this section.
