Libraries, archives, museums and other cultural activities (PKD division 91)
This division includes:
- activities of libraries and archives,
- activities of all types of museums,
- collections of cultural heritage of all types, including library and archival documents,
- activities of botanical and zoological gardens,
- activities related to the protection of historic sites or buildings,
- activities of nature reserves,
- identification, collection, inventorying, conservation/restoration and mediation in respect of cultural or natural, tangible and intangible heritage,
- maintenance and protection of exhibition sites, places and natural monuments of historical, cultural or educational importance (for example, world heritage sites).
This division excludes:
- the production of musical instruments, classified in 32.20.Z,
- the renovation, restoration, reconstruction and fitting-out of historic and archaeological sites and buildings, classified in 43.99.Z,
- the retail sale of paintings and sculptures (activities of commercial art galleries), classified in 47.69.B,
- the retail sale of used goods, classified in 47.79.A, 47.79.B, 47.79.C,
- transport and storage activities, classified in the relevant subclasses of section 52,
- insurance activities, classified in the relevant subclasses of section 66,
- architectural activities supporting the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage objects, classified in 71.11.Z,
- research activities, conservation sciences dedicated to cultural heritage, classified in the relevant subclasses of section 72,
- activities of tourist guides, classified in 79.90.Z,
- activities related to sport, entertainment and recreation (for example, activities of recreational parks and beaches), classified in the relevant subclasses of section 93
- the repair of musical instruments not regarded as cultural and historical heritage, classified in 95.29.Z.
