Crop and animal production, hunting and related service activities (PKD division 01)

• the cultivation and growing of plants,
• the breeding and raising of animals and the production of animal products,
• soilless cultivation of plants using methods such as hydroponics and aquaponics,
• services related to agriculture and hunting, animal capture and related activities.

Mixed farming (group 01.5) covers agricultural holdings carrying out both crop and livestock production in balanced proportions.

This group was created in order to avoid classifying mixed holdings under different groupings.

In agriculture, one common situation in which the allocation of value added creates difficulties is where an economic entity produces goods from agricultural products originating from its own crops. An example is an economic entity engaged in grape growing and at the same time producing wine from the grapes it grows. In such cases, the most appropriate indicator used as an auxiliary measure is the number of hours worked, and its application to this type of vertical integration of activities generally leads to the classification of such economic entities in agriculture. In accordance with the above principle, economic entities engaged in the cultivation and own production of other agricultural products should also be classified accordingly.

• processing of agricultural products (the relevant subclasses of division 10 "Manufacture of food products", division 11 "Manufacture of beverages" and division 12 "Manufacture of tobacco products"), except for preparing them for the primary market, classified in this division
• construction earthworks carried out on fields, for example contour ploughing of agricultural land (to create terraces), drainage, preparation of fields for paddy rice cultivation and the like, classified in the relevant subclasses of section F "Construction"
• trade in agricultural products classified in the relevant subclasses of section G "Wholesale and retail trade"
• landscape service activities, classified in 81.30.Z.
