Telecommunications (PKD division 61)
This division includes:
- activities consisting in the provision of telecommunications services and service activities related thereto, that is, the transmission of voice, data, text, audio and video. The transmission systems used for these activities may be based on a single technology or on a combination of technologies. A common feature of the activities classified in this division is the transmission of programmes, rather than their production or modification. In the case of television signal transmission, this may include complete, packaged and scheduled channels (production in the relevant subclasses of division 60),
- machine-to-machine communication activities,
- transmission of audio or video data without acquisition of rights to the audio or video content.
This division excludes:
- film production and post-production, audiovisual programmes, television programmes and sound recordings, including services for converting audio and video content into formats enabling streaming, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 59
- activities related to broadcasting and the provision of audio and video streaming services or enabling the download of audio and video content, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 60.
