Other mining and quarrying (PKD division 08)
This division includes:
- other mining and quarrying from mines or quarries,
- quarrying of stone,
- dredging of river sediments,
- crushing and breaking of rocks,
- extraction of salt. The extracted raw materials are used mainly in construction (for example sand, stone), in the manufacture of materials (for example clay, gypsum, lime), and in the manufacture of chemical products and the like.
This division excludes:
- processing of extracted raw materials (except for crushing, grinding, cutting, cleaning, drying, sorting and mixing), classified in the relevant subclasses of section C.
