Manufacture of basic metals (PKD division 24)
This division includes:
- smelting and/or refining ferrous and non-ferrous metals from ore, pig iron, metal waste or scrap, using electrometallurgical processes and other metallurgical techniques,
- the manufacture of alloys and superalloys by adding chemical elements to pure metals. The product resulting from smelting and refining, usually in the form of ingots, is subjected to rolling, drawing and extrusion operations to obtain, for example, sheets, plates, strips, bars, rods, wires or tubes, tube pipes and hollow profiles as well as other basic metal products, and in liquid form, is intended for the production of castings.
