subscription-based and distribution of video recordings Television programmes may be broadcast by the producer or distributed for transmission by a third-party broadcasting equipment operator (for example cable television operators, satellite television providers). These programmes may be general or specialised in nature (for example, on specific topics such as news programmes, sports coverage, educational programmes, youth programmes), and may be free-to-air or subscription-based).
This subclass includes:
- creating a complete television programme from purchased programme components (for example films, documentaries), from self-produced programme components (for example local news, live coverage) or a combination thereof,
- on-demand broadcasting,
- the distribution of video films by streaming and download, not related to publishing,
- transmission of performances and live events,
- operation of websites for streaming computer games intended solely for viewing.
This subclass excludes:
- distribution of computer games by streaming and download by publishers, classified in 58.21.Z,
- production of television programme components (for example films, documentaries, talk shows, advertisements and the like), classified in 59.11.Z,
- assembling programme packages and their transmission by cable or satellite network operators to viewers, classified in 61.10.B,
- provision of technical infrastructure related to streaming video recordings, data processing activities and related activities, classified in 63.10.A, 63.10.B, 63.10.D,
- rental of recorded video materials on information media to the general public, classified in 77.22.Z. content distribution
- This group includes: - activities of news agencies and websites engaged in content distribution (for example social networking services, wiki services, online games / computer games websites).
- This group does not include: - activities of libraries and archives, classified in the relevant subclasses of group 91.1.
