This subclass includes service activities in the field of preventive, curative or rehabilitative health care, performed by medical practitioners. The health benefits resulting from carrying out these activities are not based on scientific data concerning the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and have so far not been fully evaluated in a manner that can be generally accepted as evidence-based.
This subclass includes:
- activities in the field of traditional medicine, a range of long-standing and still evolving practices developed in various societies before or during the development of modern medicine (for example traditional Chinese medicine, such as acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines, Unani, as well as the use of traditional African medicines),
- activities in the field of complementary medicine (for example Alexander technique, aromatherapy, Bach therapy and other flower therapies, body therapies, Ayurveda, herbal medicine, naturopathy, nutritional therapy),
- activities in the field of alternative medicine (for example homeopathy, chiropractic, osteopathy, crystal therapy, iridology, kinesiology, radionics),
- activities of healers,
- activities in the field of hypnotherapy, reflexology, corrective therapy using the Cesar and Mensendieck methods, naprapathy.
This subclass excludes:
- activities of practitioners in the field of shiatsu, Thai massage, watsu, qigong tui na, classified in 86.99.D.
