Pre-press and pre-media services (PKD 18.13.Z)
This subclass includes:
- data entry: composition, phototypesetting, manual data entry, into a form suitable for use in various printing processes and representation in other visual media, including scanning and optical character recognition, preparation of data in electronic form,
- preparation of data files for use in various media (paper medium, CD-ROM, Internet),
- service activities related to the creation of printing plates, including the creation of plates for letterpress and offset printing,
- engraving of cylinders for reproduction of engravings,
- computer-to-plate transfer (CTP), including to photopolymer plates,
- reproduction of printing plates and dies for stamping and relief printing,
- preparation of illustrations, including the production of lithographic stones and finished woodblocks,
- production of presentation media,
- design of printed products (for example sketches, mock-ups, models and the like),
- proof-reading.
This subclass excludes:
- specialised graphic design of visual content intended to convey information not for printing, classified in the relevant subclasses of group 74.1.
