Other monetary intermediation (PKD 64.19.Z)

This subclass includes:

  • activities related to accepting deposits and/or close substitutes for deposits and granting loans or other forms of lending. The granting of credit may take various forms (for example loans, mortgage loans, credit card loans and the like). This activity is generally carried out by monetary financial institutions other than the central bank, for example:
  • banks,
  • savings banks,
  • credit societies and unions,
  • postal bank activities related to financial operations (loan servicing, savings, giro) carried out through the post,
  • lending activities (for example housing or agricultural loans) carried out by specialised deposit-taking institutions,
  • activities of bank agencies and payment collection points,
  • activities related to money transfer services.

This subclass excludes:

  • activities related to the granting of loans (for example housing loans) by specialised non-deposit-taking institutions, classified in 64.92.B,
  • activities related to the processing and settlement of payment card transactions, classified in 66.19.Z. for other entities

This group includes the activities of holding companies and companies raising finance for other entities. These are internal financial entities of corporate groups, that is, business entities established by a financial or non-financial group in order to carry out specified financial activities, whose main task is respectively to hold the group or to act as a vehicle for organising and directing the flow of funds within the group.

  • This group does not include: - factoring activities, classified in 64.92.B
  • own-account investment activity carried out through capital placement via, for example, venture capital companies and investment clubs, classified in 64.99.Z
  • active management of companies and business entities, strategic planning and decision-making processes in relation to business entities, classified in 70.10.A
  • other activities of internal financial entities of corporate groups, classified in the relevant subclasses of the classification.
