This subclass includes:
- issuing and managing domestic means of payment and digital currency,
- conducting monetary policy, including monitoring the money supply,
- activities aimed at ensuring the stability of the financial system,
- accepting deposits used for settlements between monetary financial institutions,
- supervising banking or non-banking monetary operations, insofar as they are not supervised by another entity,
- maintaining national foreign exchange reserves and precious metal reserves, for example gold,
- providing banking services for the state budget,
- activities of the system of central banks, currency boards and central monetary agencies.
This subclass excludes:
- activities of financial supervisory authorities not carried out by the central bank and public authorities, classified in 66.11.Z,
- financial supervision activities in the area of insurance and pension funds, not carried out by the central bank, classified in 66.29.Z,
- implementation of financial regulations concerning the conduct of business and consumer protection, and implementation of other financial regulations, classified in 84.13.Z,
- activities of international organisations (for example the World Bank), classified in 99.00.Z.
