This subclass includes:
- activities of money market investment funds and non-money market investment funds, that is, collective investment schemes which raise funds through a public issue of shares or units, the proceeds of which are invested mainly in financial assets (including short-term assets):
- open-ended investment funds,
- closed-ended investment funds,
- unit investment trusts.
This subclass excludes:
- activities of holding companies, classified in 64.21.Z,
- activities of companies with minority interests not exceeding the level controlling the share capital, classified in 64.32.Z,
- activities of trusts and fiduciary accounts not operating within collective investment schemes, classified in 64.32.Z,
- activities of venture capital companies, classified in 64.99.Z,
- pension funds, classified in 65.30.Z,
- fund management activities, classified in 66.30.Z.
