This subclass includes:
- carrying out physical, chemical and other analytical tests on all kinds of materials and products, for example:
- acoustic and vibration tests,
- tests of the composition and purity of minerals,
- tests of the physical properties and performance of materials, for example strength, thickness, durability, radioactivity,
- tests for compliance with requirements and reliability,
- performance tests of complete machines: engines, automobiles, electronic equipment and similar,
- radiographic testing of welds and joints,
- error and failure analysis,
- testing and measurement of environmental indicators: air and water pollution and similar,
- fuel quality tests,
- product certification, including motor vehicles, aircraft, pressure vessels, nuclear power plants and similar (excluding consumer goods),
- issuing approvals for motor vehicles, ships, aircraft, pressure vessels, nuclear power plants and similar,
- issuing energy certificates for buildings or parts of buildings,
- carrying out periodic technical inspections of motor vehicles,
- conducting tests using models or mock-ups (for example aircraft, ships, dams),
- operating police or forensic laboratories,
- activities related to testing the origin of a product and assessing its quality (excluding food),
- inspection of water and gas pipelines not connected with their repair or installation.
This subclass excludes:
- inspection of water and gas pipelines connected with their repair or installation, classified in the relevant subclasses of section F,
- checking the quality and weighing of goods as part of cargo handling operations, classified in 52.25.Z,
- penetration testing of computer systems, ethical hacking and cybersecurity, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 62,
- consultancy activities carried out by business entities or specialists for the purpose of obtaining an approval/certificate, classified in 70.20.Z,
- DNA sequencing for general research on biological processes, classified in 72.10.Z,
- testing animal samples for sanitary purposes not related to food production, classified in 75.00.Z,
- activities related to diagnostic imaging, medical and dental examinations, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 86,
- DNA sequencing for the purpose of excluding or confirming a specific disease, classified in 86.91.B.
