Support activities for petroleum and natural gas extraction (PKD 09.10.Z)

This subclass includes:

  • support service activities for the operation of oil and natural gas extraction, performed on a contract basis, such as:
    • carrying out prospecting work in connection with the extraction of oil and natural gas (for example by traditional methods through geological observations at exploration sites),
    • drilling and directional drilling,
    • erection, repair and dismantling of drilling towers,
    • cementing of oil and natural gas wells,
    • pumping, plugging and sealing of wells and the like,
    • liquefaction and regasification of natural gas, carried out on the mine site for transport purposes,
    • drainage and pumping out, performed on a contract basis,
    • test drilling related to oil and gas extraction,
  • fire protection and fire fighting in oil and gas fields.

This subclass excludes:

  • oil and natural gas extraction, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 06,
  • specialised repair and maintenance of mining machinery and equipment used for drilling and extraction, classified in 33.12.Z,
  • specialised offshore installations, repair and maintenance of equipment forming an integral part of floating platforms, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 43,
  • liquefaction and regasification of natural gas carried out outside the mine site for waterborne or land transport purposes, classified in 52.21.A, 52.21.B, 52.22.A, 52.22.B,
  • geophysical, geological and seismic surveys, classified in 71.12.B.
