This subclass covers the operation and supervision of financial markets by entities other than central banks and public authorities, for example:
- commodity contract exchanges,
- futures exchanges,
- securities exchanges,
- exchanges for options on shares or exchange-traded commodities,
- crypto-asset exchanges,
- administration of financial markets excluding insurance and pension funds,
- activities of financial supervisory authorities in the field of financial services, excluding insurance and pension funds (not carried out by the central bank).
This subclass excludes:
- trading and exchange of generating capacity, transmission capacity or electricity distribution capacity, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 35
- administration of financial markets in the field of insurance and pension funds, classified in 66.29.Z
- activities of financial supervisory authorities over insurance and pension funds (not carried out by the central bank), classified in 66.29.Z
- implementation of financial regulations relating to business conduct and consumer protection, and implementation of other financial regulations, classified in 84.13.Z.
