Archive activities (PKD 91.12.Z)
This subclass includes:
- activities consisting in collecting, including acquiring, storing and safeguarding physical or digital documents for the purpose of creating archival collections,
- activities related to the identification, classification, qualification, registration, inventorying, description and processing of archival collections,
- archiving of documents (in paper or electronic form),
- activities related to the security and conservation of collections (monitoring their state of preservation and storage conditions, ensuring security and protection),
- digitisation of archival documents for the purpose of safeguarding their content and creating digital archival collections,
- activities related to making archival collections available to various stakeholder groups (for example students, researchers, genealogists, teachers, employees) on site or remotely.
This subclass excludes:
- the retail sale of manuscripts, classified in 47.69.C,
- on-contract storage of data files, classified in 63.10.D,
- on-contract digitisation of files (related to further data processing), classified in 63.10.D,
- on-contract digitisation of files (without their subsequent processing/editing), classified in 82.10.Z,
- conservation and restoration activities for cultural heritage, classified in 91.30.Z. museum collections, historic sites and monuments
- This group includes: - activities related to the operation, management, conservation, display and valuation of cultural heritage: tangible, intangible and digital in various types of collections (both private and public)
- activities related to cultural heritage sites resulting from human intervention in the environment, from landscapes to gardens, from historic and archaeological sites to buildings.
- This group does not include: - renovation, restoration, reconstruction and outfitting of historic and archaeological sites and buildings, classified in 43.99.Z
- the retail sale of paintings and sculptures (activities of commercial art galleries), classified in 47.69.B
- architectural activities supporting the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage objects, classified in 71.11.Z
- conservation and restoration activities for cultural heritage, classified in 91.30.Z.
