This subclass includes the manufacture of telephones and transmission equipment used for the electronic transmission of signals over wired or wireless networks (for example equipment for transmission and wireless communication by means of radio and television transmitters and wireless transmission and communication devices).
This subclass includes:
- manufacture of exchange equipment for telephone exchanges,
- manufacture of cordless telephones,
- manufacture of equipment for private branch exchanges (PBX) connected to the public telephone network,
- manufacture of telephones, facsimile machines, including telephone answering machines,
- manufacture of communication devices for data transmission (for example bridges, routers and gateways),
- manufacture of transmitting and receiving antennas,
- manufacture of cable television equipment,
- manufacture of pagers,
- manufacture of mobile telephones,
- manufacture of portable communication devices,
- manufacture of equipment for radio and television studios and broadcasting equipment, including the manufacture of television cameras,
- manufacture of modems, information transmission equipment,
- manufacture of radio and television transmitters,
- manufacture of infrared communication devices (for example remote controls),
- manufacture of smartwatches.
This subclass excludes:
- manufacture of electronic components and assemblies used in (tele)communication equipment, including computer modems, classified in 26.12.Z,
- manufacture of assembled printed circuit boards with passive elements, classified in 26.12.Z,
- manufacture of computers and peripheral equipment, classified in 26.20.Z,
- manufacture of consumer audio and video equipment, classified in 26.40.Z,
- manufacture of burglar and fire alarm systems sending signals to a control station, classified in 26.51.Z,
- manufacture of global positioning system (GPS) devices, classified in 26.51.Z,
- manufacture of electronic boards, classified in 27.90.Z,
- manufacture of traffic signalling equipment, classified in 27.90.Z.
