This subclass includes:
- the production of electric, internal combustion, steam and other railway locomotives,
- the production of self-propelled railway or tramway vehicles: passenger coaches, freight wagons, flat wagons, maintenance or service vehicles,
- the production of railway and tramway rolling stock without self-propulsion, for example:
- passenger coaches, freight wagons, self-discharging wagons, tank wagons and workshop wagons, railway cranes, tenders,
- the production of specialised parts for railway or tramway locomotives or rolling stock, for example:
- bogies, axles and wheels, brakes and parts thereof; hooks and coupling components, buffers and parts thereof; shock absorbers; underframes for locomotives and wagons; structural frames of wagons and locomotives; bodies; gangway connections,
- the production of mining locomotives and mining wagons,
- factory repair and factory rebuilding of locomotives and railway wagons,
- the production of mechanical and electromechanical signalling, safety and traffic-control equipment (for example on rail tracks, inland waterways, streets, roads, parking areas, airports),
- the production of seats for railway rolling stock.
This subclass excludes:
- the production of unassembled rails, classified in 24.10.Z,
- the production of finished metal fittings for railway tracks, classified in 25.99.Z,
- the production of electric motors not for motor vehicles, classified in 27.11.Z,
- the production of electrical equipment for safety signalling and traffic control, classified in 27.90.Z,
- the production of engines and turbines, excluding aircraft, automotive and motorcycle engines, classified in 28.11.Z,
- the production of railway engines, classified in 28.11.Z. machines
