Sound recording and music publishing activities (PKD 59.20.Z)
This subclass includes:
- production of original sound master recordings, including digital recordings, available online or in any paper form,
- sound recording services, including the production of recorded (that is, not live-broadcast) radio programmes, audio podcasts, as well as sound for films, television, books and the like,
- music publishing activities, that is activities consisting of:
- acquiring and registering copyright in musical compositions,
- promoting, authorising and exploiting those compositions in radio, television and film recordings, live performances, print media and other media,
- distributing sound recordings by streaming and downloads, by their publishers,
- publishing, promotion and distribution of sound recordings intended for wholesale, retail or direct to consumers may include the production of master recordings or obtaining the right to reproduce and distribute master recordings,
- conversion of sound recordings to audio streaming formats,
- publishing of music books and sheet music.
This subclass excludes:
- reproduction from master copies of music or other sound recordings, classified in 18.20.Z,
- wholesale of recorded media, classified in 46.49.Z,
- retail sale of recorded media, classified in 47.69.C,
- distribution of sound recordings by streaming or downloads, unrelated to their publishing, classified in 60.10.Z,
- activities of independent musicians, classified in 90.20.C.
