This subclass includes:

  • the production of string instruments,
  • the production of keyboard string instruments, including player pianos,
  • the production of keyboard pipe organs, including harmoniums and similar keyboard instruments with free metal reeds,
  • the production of accordions and similar instruments, including harmonicas,
  • the production of wind instruments,
  • the production of percussion instruments (for example drums, xylophones, cymbals, castanets, maracas),
  • the production of musical instruments whose sound is produced or must be amplified electrically (for example digital keyboard pianos, keyboard synthesizers),
  • the production of musical boxes, fairground organs, barrel organs and the like,
  • the production of parts and accessories for musical instruments, for example:
    • metronomes, tuning forks, pitch pipes, cards, discs and cylinders for mechanical musical instruments,
  • the production of whistles, horns and other signalling wind instruments.

This subclass excludes:

  • the reproduction of recorded audio and video cassettes, tapes and discs, classified in 18.20.Z,
  • the production of microphones, amplifiers, loudspeakers, headphones and similar devices, classified in 26.40.Z,
  • the production of gramophones, tape recorders and similar products, classified in 26.40.Z,
  • the production of toy musical instruments, classified in 32.40.Z,
  • the publishing of recorded audio cassettes, tapes and discs, classified in 59.20.Z,
  • the repair of musical instruments not regarded as cultural heritage or historical musical instruments, classified in 95.29.Z,
  • the tuning of pianos and upright pianos, classified in 95.29.Z.
