This subclass covers the preparation and spinning of textile fibres, from various raw materials, both new and recycled (for example silk, cotton, wool, plant fibres, chemical fibres, cellulosic fibres (from wood or straw)):
- the preparation of textile fibres:
- reeling, washing and twisting of silk,
- washing of wool, that is scouring, carbonising and dyeing of wool fleece,
- carding and combing of all types of animal, plant and chemical fibres,
- the manufacture of yarn or thread for knitting or weaving, intended for trade or further processing:
- hackling of flax,
- texturising, twisting, braiding, spinning, pneumatic interlacing, joining and threading of yarn from synthetic or artificial fibres,
- the manufacture of yarn from secondary raw materials,
- the production of paper yarn,
- the production of yarn from glass fibres.
This subclass excludes:
- activities related to fibre preparation, carried out within agricultural activity, classified in the relevant subclasses of division 01,
- retting of fibre plants (jute, flax, coconut and the like), not associated with their cultivation, classified in 01.63.Z,
- cotton ginning, classified in 01.63.Z,
- the production of synthetic or artificial fibres and tow and the production of single yarns (including high-tenacity yarn and carpet yarn) from synthetic or artificial fibres, classified in 20.60.Z,
- the production of glass fibres, classified in 23.14.Z,
- the processing of textile waste into secondary raw materials, classified in 38.21.Z.
