This subclass includes:

  • the manufacture of selected inorganic gases in liquid or compressed form for industrial or medical use:
    • gaseous chemical elements,
    • air in liquid or compressed form,
    • mixtures of technical gases,
    • inert gases (for example carbon dioxide),
    • insulating gases,
  • the manufacture of hydrogen for uses other than energy use in the grid system.

This subclass excludes:

  • natural gas extraction, classified in 06.20.Z,
  • liquefaction and regasification of natural gas carried out at the mine site for transport purposes, classified in 09.10.Z,
  • the manufacture of heating gases (for example ethane, butane or propane produced in the crude oil refining process), classified in 19.20.Z,
  • the manufacture of refrigerant gases from halogenated hydrocarbons, classified in 20.14.Z,
  • the manufacture of gaseous fuels from coal, waste and the like, classified in 35.21.Z,
  • the manufacture of hydrogen as a gaseous fuel supplied in the grid system, classified in 35.21.Z.
