Marine fishing (PKD 03.11.Z)
This subclass includes:
- fishing for fish in oceans, seas and inland sea waters,
- fishing for marine crustaceans and molluscs,
- whaling,
- catching aquatic animals (for example turtles, tunicates, sea urchins),
- harvesting (catching, extracting) other products and organisms found in marine waters (for example natural pearls, sponges, corals, seaweeds and algae).
This subclass excludes:
- fishing for marine mammals (for example seals, walruses), other than whaling, classified in 01.70.Z,
- the activities of factory ships engaged in processing whales, classified in 10.11.Z,
- the activities of factory ships not carrying out fishing (engaged solely in processing and preserving) or shore-based processing plants processing fish, crustaceans and molluscs, classified in 10.20.Z,
- chartering of excursion boats with crew for trips on seas and coastal waters (for example fishing trips), classified in 50.10.Z,
- activities related to fishery supervision and patrol services, classified in 84.24.Z,
- sport and recreational fishing and related activities, classified in 93.19.Z,
- sport fishing grounds activities, classified in 93.19.Z.
