Processing and preserving of fish, crustaceans and molluscs (PKD 10.20.Z)
This subclass includes:
- processing and preserving fish, crustaceans and molluscs (for example by freezing, deep-freezing, drying, cooking, smoking, salting, storage in brine, canning),
- production of products from fish, crustaceans and molluscs: fish fillets, roe, caviar, caviar substitutes and similar products,
- production of fish meal intended for human consumption or animal feed,
- production of meal and soluble fractions of fish and other aquatic animals not fit for human consumption,
- activities of fish-processing vessels that do not carry out fishing, on which only processing and preserving of fish is performed,
- processing of seaweed,
- heading, gutting and cutting fish into pieces, followed by freezing.
This subclass excludes:
- processing of fish on vessels engaged in fishing, classified in 03.11.Z,
- processing of whales on land or on specialised vessels, classified in 10.11.Z,
- production of oils and fats from fish and marine mammals, classified in 10.41.Z,
- production of ready-made fish dishes, packed in MAP, vacuum or other freshness-preserving packaging, classified in 10.85.Z,
- production of fish soups, classified in 10.89.D.
