Manufacture of oils and fats (PKD 10.41.Z)
This subclass includes:
- the production of crude and refined vegetable oils (for example olive oil, soy oil, hemp oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil),
- the production of non-defatted flour and meal from oilseeds, nuts or oily kernels,
- processing of vegetable oils (for example by steaming, boiling, dehydration, hydrogenation),
- the production of non-edible animal oils and fats,
- the production of oils from fish and marine mammals,
- the production of cotton linters, oilseed cake and other residues from oil production.
This subclass excludes:
- the rendering and refining of lard and other edible animal fats from cattle, sheep, goats or pigs, classified in 10.11.Z,
- the rendering of edible fats from poultry, classified in 10.12.Z,
- the production of margarine, classified in 10.42.Z,
- wet milling of maize and the production of corn oil, classified in 10.62.Z,
- the production of essential oils, classified in 20.59.Z,
- the processing of oils and fats by chemical processes, classified in 20.59.Z.
