This subclass includes:
- the production of food consisting mainly of fruit or vegetables,
- the preservation of fruit, nuts and vegetables (for example by freezing, drying (including freeze-drying, i.e. lyophilisation, drying using infrared emitters), covering with oil or vinegar, canning, high pressure, high temperature),
- the manufacture of fruit and vegetable food products,
- the production of jams, marmalade and jellies,
- shelling, peeling and roasting of nuts,
- the production of food products from nuts, including nut pastes,
- the production of perishable ready meals from fruit and vegetables, for example:
- salads; packaged salad mixes,
- peeled or cut vegetables,
- tofu (soy cheese).
This subclass excludes:
- the production of fruit and vegetable juices, classified in 10.32.Z,
- the production of flour and meal from leguminous plants, classified in 10.61.Z,
- the preservation of fruit and nuts in sugar, classified in 10.82.Z,
- the production of ready vegetable dishes, packaged in MAP, vacuum or other packaging extending freshness, classified in 10.85.Z,
- the production of artificial food concentrates, classified in 10.89.D.
- This group includes: - the production of crude and refined oils and fats of vegetable and animal origin.
- This group does not include: - the rendering or refining of edible lard and edible animal fats from cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and poultry, classified in the relevant subclasses of group 10.1.
